The Government of Sierra Leone established the National Agricultural Research Coordinating Council (NARCC) by an Act of Parliament in April 1985 to formulate agricultural research policy, set research and development priorities in the light of farmers’ needs, research recommendation and government’s policy objectives.

Our mission is to contribute to poverty alleviation and food security in Sierra Leone through research and development activities aimed at increasing the productivity, profitability and utilization of food and cash crops in ways that conserve the natural resources.
